Less Than Two Weeks to Go Until Champions Are Crowned

The finish nearing in the 2019 Brooks PR Score competition, new leaders have emerged over the past two weeks, as the boys track and field team at Capital Prep Magnet School in Hartford, Connecticut and the girls track and field team at Washington High School in Tacoma, Washington are now slightly ahead of the second and third place teams.

In the boys rankings, Capital Prep sits atop of the leaderboard with a score of 70.1, a mere three-tenths of a point ahead of former leader Sunset High School (OR), who sit one-tenth of a point ahead of third place Bishop Kelly High School (ID). With the top three teams separated by less than half a point, any post-season PRs could be the deciding factor in finishing first place nationally or third place.

Behind the lead trio, Rocky Mountain High School (ID) ranks fourth with a score of 66.2, while Oregon City High School (OR) and Jesuit High School (OR) give Oregon three teams in the top six, with a score of 65.4 and 64.8 respectively.

The Northwest continues to shine, as Garfield High School (WA) sits seventh overall with a score of 64.3, while Dublin High School (CA) is the top-ranked team in California in eighth with a score of 63.8, which has them tied with Cannon High School (NC). Redmond High School (OR) in central Oregon rounds out the top ten in tenth with a score of 63.4.

The Northwest is also showing strong on the girls side. While Washington High School sits atop of the rankings with a score of 61.4, fellow Washington State school Life Christian Academy (WA) sits second with a score of 61.2 points. Arizona's Paradise Valley Christian High School (AZ) is two-tenths of a point behind with a score of 61.0, making the final two weeks of the 2019 Brooks PR Score season incredibly fun to follow as any PR could change the top three.

Slightly behind in fourth place with a score of 60.1 is Yamhill-Carlton High School (OR), while former top-ranked squad Alpharetta High School (GA) sits fifth overall with a great mark of 59.2.

Faith Bible Christian High School (OR) ranks sixth with a score of 58.8, just ahead of seventh place Hayward High School (CA) with a score of 58.2. Covenant Day High School (NC) and Teton High School (ID) rank eighth and ninth place respecitvely with scores of 57.5 and 56.2, while Sherwood High School (OR) sits tenth with a score of 56.1.

The Brooks PR Score season runs through June 17, with state and national winning teams announced on June 20. The top three boys and top three girls teams in the nation will receive amazing Brooks prize packages.
