Incredibly close finishes conclude the second season of the Brooks PR Score

Throughout the 2019 Brooks PR Score season, numerous teams jumped into the number one spot nationally, hoping their seasonal improvement could carry them to state and national bragging rights as one of the most improved teams in the country.

In the end, the Capital Prep Magnet School boys track and field team in Hartford, Connecticut and the Washington High School girls track and field team in Tacoma, Washington reigned supreme, finishing the season slightly ahead of the competition, outlasting more than a combined 3,700 teams.

For the second year in a row, the Brooks PR Score brought together Athletic.net and Brooks, forming a ranking which measured the improvement of every athlete on a team throughout the season. Not just about who won team titles at major championships, the Brooks PR Score celebrates new-to-the-sport athletes, junior varisty athletes and varsity athletes, each contributing to their team's respective score.

Capital Prep narrowly beat out Sunset (OR) and Bishop Kelly (ID) in the final weeks, hanging on to a 70.1 score, just ahead of Sunset's 69.8 score and Bishop Kelly's 69.4 score.

In similar fashion, Washington was able to hold off fellow Washington State team Life Christian Academy 61.4-61.2, while Paradise Valley (AZ) finished another two-hundredths of a point back in third. 

The Brooks PR Score season concluded on June 20, as the top three boys and top three girls teams in the nation set to receive amazing Brooks prize packages.
